REVIEW & GIVEAWAY - The Adventures of Harvey the Wonder Dog Book

I have 2 little ones in the house who love to read book after book at any time of the day. So, when Lise Dominique asked me if I interested in reviewing her new book – The Adventures of Harvey the Wonder Dog –Harvey the Hungry Dog, I said YES!

The Book
The Adventures of Harvey the Wonder Dog first adventure is Harvey the Hungry Dog. Harvey is always hungry throughout the book and gets his paws in a variety of tasty and no so tasty treats like his best friend Karma’s dinner, snow, fireflies, and even a seat cushion and some flip-flops. Harvey does over-indulge and like any dog suffers the consequences of time out and a tummy ache. But he does do a few things that makes you smile and to find out what you must read the book!

The Adventures of Harvey the Wonder Dog – Harvey the Hungry Dog is written by Lise Dominique and illustrated by Chrissie Vales. Was published in 2009 by State Street Publishing. ISBN- 978-09760216-7-4.

The Author
Lise Dominique currently lives in Illinois, where she was born and raised. For 15 years Lise was in the the San Francisco Bay Area and Chicago working in broadcast morning radio. She also had jobs in on-camera commercials and voice-overs. Further down her life she spent over 12 years in sales for a major pharmaceutical firm and Fortune 100 company. With losing her job like so many in 2008, she turned back to her passion in radio and started the process of authoring her first book: The Adventures of Harvey the Wonder Dog –Harvey the Hungry Dog.

My review
My oldest grabbed the book as soon as it came out of the box. She went right to the couch to start looking at the pictures and make up the story as she turned the pages. This caught the attention on the little one who joined her big sister and they read together what they saw on the pages. Unable to read yet at such a young age, I sat down next to them and began to read to them. Even though there were a lot of words on the pages, the story and illustration kept their attention the whole time. This book is now one of their favorites to read at bedtime!
